About

She was born in Ankara, in 1965 and graduated from 9 Eylul University Faculty of Architecture in 1987. She had masters degree in 1990 and  PhD degree in 1998 from the same school. She worked as an academician between 1987 and 2007 in 9 Eylül University Faculty of Architecture.  In this period, she has written articles about effects of globalization on spaces. Some of them are, “Shopping Malls – Examples in Turkey” ( Ege Mimarlık 2001/4 – 2002/1),  “Changing Shopping Patterns – Shopping Spaces” (Arradamento Mimarlık 2001/ 11), “New Goods of Global Capital – Luxurious Residences” (Consumption and Archirecture  - Arradamento Mimarlık Appendix /2002) , “Generation of Residential Zones and Their Effects on Urban Space – İzmir Çiğli Example” (collboration with Y. Sayar - Mimarlık 319 / 2004) . She also had some articles about architectural education such as “A crritical perspective on Archirecture Education during Reconfiguration Period” (Mimarlık 337 / 2007). She edited “Different  Approaches to Design Studios in Architecture Education” (collaboration with Hikmet Gökmen  - Izmir Chamber Of Architects Publications / 2003), “Different Approaches to Design Studios” (Ege Mimarlık 2003 / 3 – 47), “ Changing Consumption Habits and Spaces: Shopping Spaces” (Ege Mimarlık 2001 – 40), “About Arcitecture, Structure, Steel and Glass” (Ege Mimarlık 2001 – 37).

 

She has been working for full-time, as co-founder  in M artı D Mimarlık, since 2007.  In this period , she and her team won 13th National Architecture  Prize in 2012 by  AEU Professional and Technical High School, which had the 1st prize in an invited competition.  By Asma Bahçeler Residences project , she had 5th Turgut Cansever International Architecture Special Prize in 2019. Private AOIZ NU Professional and Technical High School (2012) which is obtained by an invited competition, İZTEKGEB Innovation Center (2013) are some of her constructed works.  Furthermore, she and her team have projects which are rewarded in national  architectural competitions. Denizli Govenrment Hall and Surroundings Architectural Competition (2009), MEB Education Campus Architectural Competitions (2013), Tasarım Koridorları National Idea Competition (2014), Gaziemir Aktepe and Emrez Districts Urban Transformation Project Competition (2015), Konak Municipality Service Building and Surroundings Architectural Competition  (2015), are some of competitions which she and her team had prizes. She is a member of the team designing and applying,  Alsancak Port – Bayraklı – Turan  Zone,  that is a part of  İzmirDeniz Waterfront Design Project (2009 – continuing)  ,  aiming to stimulate waterfront of Izmir. She has articles published in architectural journals, she participates various events as speaker and  joins architecture competitions as jury member.
